The Taylor Swift rollercoaster shows no sign of slowing down after the Victoria and Albert Museum in London announced that a multitude of “looks” worn by the Eras tour artist will go on display at V&A South Kensington this summer (Taylor Swift/Songbook Trail, 27 July-8 September). Sixteen outfits displayed along 13 stops, drawn from the pop megastar’s personal archive, will “showcase a chapter in the songbook of Taylor’s career and spotlight a particular era of her music and prolific songwriting”, says the V&A. The costumes will be shown alongside instruments, music awards, storyboards and previously unseen archival material. “Taylor Swift’s songs, like objects, tell stories, often drawing from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical trail across the museum will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity and V&A objects,” says Kate Bailey, senior curator, Theatre & Performance, in a statement. Swifties cannot wait….
