The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), has teamed up with burgeoning Paris art institution The Community, to launch The Salon by NADA and The Community from October 17–20, 2024, as a new satellite fair to take place during Paris+ par Art Basel’s third edition. This invitational fair will take place in Paris’s vibrant 10th arrondissement, with its precise venue to be confirmed later in the year. The event will involve four days of multidisciplinary cultural events featuring art, music, fashion, and publishing.
NADA has previously collaborated on fair events in Europe, through a partnership with Art Cologne’s Collaborations section that ran 2013–16. However, this will be its first full event outside of the United States. The Salon will host about 50 galleries, a contrast to NADA’s larger showcases in Miami and New York, and offering visitors a more intimate experience than other Paris fairs during the city’s fall art week. The collaboration with The Community also promises a more unconventional format, and an “alternative cultural experience.” The Salon also coincides with the 10th edition of Paris Internationale, which has a strong track record of featuring young and tastemaking galleries from around the world in unconventional venues.
In an interview with ArtNews, executive director of NADA Heather Hubbs noted the burgeoning scene in Paris as a major reason behind the choice of location. “The scene there just seems to be expanding so much,” she said, noting that it was the most popular option for expansion among dealers.
Paris-based establishment The Community, has presented exhibitions across Paris, most notably a show on Moomins creator Tove Jansson’s artistic career.
