I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my journey. Let me take you through the twists and turns of my career and the emergence of my love for jewelry design. I see the medium as wearable art, embodying the essence of human expression.
My story begins in Hungary, where I was born. I escaped with my family to London during the Hungarian Revolution in the Cold War. Growing up in the UK, I realized the importance of language and subsequently pursued studies in French, German, and Russian, with dreams of a career in interpretation.
However, at the age of 26, I found my true calling when I embarked on a silversmithing course. This marked the beginning of my exploration into design. I was particularly drawn to the allure of art deco and geometric concepts, mixing metals and precious and semi-precious jewels.
Initially, I balanced my creative pursuits with a career in translation and education. But my heart remained in jewelry design. In 2009, I took a leap of faith and re-established my own business, showcasing my creations at renowned fairs in Jerusalem and London.
My designs are characterized by square rings, minimalist rods, triangles, and other geometric forms. They are adorned with an array of semi-precious stones, garnered attention for their unique blend of elegance and modernity. The excitement of seeing my designs worn by models in fashion shows and being gifted to celebrities was unparalleled. It ignited my passion for this creative medium and its impact on both the wearer and the observer as they become living canvases for my wearable art.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, I embraced the art of photography, capturing over 5,000 images of my jewelry pieces to establish a foundation for marketing and branding my business. These images became integral to promoting my work. They were featured in digital exhibitions and publications, including collaborations with renowned institutions such as See|Me.
Today, my jewelry is still a fusion of geometric shapes, vibrant colored jewels and materials, and ultra-modern designs. It reflects my love for art deco aesthetics and futuristic esthetics. Recent events have inspired me to delve into Judaica jewelry. They infuse my creations with symbolism, reflecting the current state of the world.
I’ve taken existing pieces and combined them in new and unique ways. I’ve formed abstract Stars of David from two triangles, leaving them with rough finish to reflect the ongoing conflicts. Amidst turmoil, I find solace in crafting pieces that convey resilience and hope. I hope to transcend mere adornment, and evoke powerful emotions.
As I continue to evolve as an artist, each piece I create tells a story of passion, perseverance, and the transformative power of art. Through my jewelry, I aim to capture the beauty of geometry and the essence of human experience. I invite others to embark on a journey of discovery and self-expression.
