The Art Newspaper is looking for two freelance researchers to work on our Year Ahead 2025 supplement.

The Year Ahead is our comprehensive annual guide to the art exhibitions taking place in museums across the world. We are looking for researchers to help collate and check this information.

The initial work will be for around 10 days spread over 2-4 weeks in October 2024, paid on a day-rate, with the potential for future similar work. Times and days are flexible. You would work from home, ideally based in the US or Europe, or similar timezones.

Key responsibilities

• Contacting museums around the world via email and, in some cases, by telephone.
• Accurately updating exhibition information in an online database.
• Checking and cross-referencing exhibition information.

Key skills and experience

• Familiarity with art museums and art exhibitions.
• Experience of contacting press officers and PRs.
• Familiarity with Outlook and email systems.
• Experience of working with large datasets in databases and spreadsheets.
• Good command of editing in English; other language skills are beneficial.
• Diligent and organised.
• Friendly and professional manner.

How to apply

Interested candidates should send a CV with a cover letter to l.cheshire@theartnewspaper.com by Friday 20 September.
