For its annual Art+Film Gala, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has booked American singer and rapper Doja Cat as the musical guest for the event, which will take place at the museum on November 1.

Last month, Doja Cat released her latest album Vie, and shortly after her performance at the gala, she will begin an international tour, starting with a stop in Auckland, New Zealand, on November 18. She first rose to prominence via her 2018 viral single and video “Mooo!” The song “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, from her third studio album Planet Her (2021), won a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

In a statement, LACMA trustee Eva Chow, who cochairs the event with actor Leonardo DiCarpio, said, “The Art+Film Gala has hosted an incredible range of musical talent over the past 14 years. Doja Cat is a boundary-breaking creative force who will bring her incomparable energy to the evening.”

Now in its 14th iteration, the Art+Film Gala is one of LACMA’s main fundraising events, with the 2024 iteration raising $6.4 million for the museum. Each year, it honors one visual artist and one filmmaker. This year’s honorees are Mary Corse, one of LA’s most important artists from the postwar era and a key figure in the Light and Space movement, and filmmaker Ryan Coogler of Sinner (2025) and Black Panther (2018) fame.

The Art+Film Gala has also become known for its ability to book high-profile musical guests. Last year’s event, which honored Simone Leigh and Baz Luhrmann, had Charli xcx as the evening’s entertainment, while the 2023 iteration, honoring Judith F. Baca and David Fincher, featured Lenny Kravitz.
