Design Miami has today announced a programme of new events taking place around the world in 2025. The collectible design fair, which focuses on museum-quality 20th and 21st century furniture, lighting, and objets d’art, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the new initiative, dubbed Design Miami.In Situ.
Design Miami’s chief executive officer, Jen Roberts, said in a statement: “For 20 years, Design Miami has been dedicated to platforming the very best of historic and contemporary collectible design on the global stage. As the design world and market evolves, so do the ways our community engages with it.
“As we mark this incredible milestone year, we remain committed to our fair model while also expanding our platform to create new, meaningful ways to connect with the global design community. The year ahead is a celebration of where we have been, whilst we look forward to the next 20 years.”
Design Miami.In Situ. kicks off on 31 July with Design Miami presents A Day of Design in Aspen with Range Rover. Running alongside Aspen Art Museum’s annual ArtCrush event and curated by Design Miami’s curatorial director Ashlee Harrison, the event is billed as “an intimate one-day programme of exclusive design experiences”, which will include “creative activations and opportunities for unique access produced in collaboration with Design Miami partners”.

In the first weeks of September the fair’s programme moves to Seoul, for Design Miami presents Illuminated: A Spotlight on Korean Design. This largest of Design Miami.In Situ’s activations will consist of a 14-day exhibition presented in collaboration with the Seoul Design Foundation. Hosted in the Zaha Hadid-designed Dongdaemun Design Plaza and curated by chairperson of the Korea Association of Art & Design Hyeyoung Cho, the show will platform the design voices and figures who have shaped the Korean collectible design landscape.
The following month Design Miami will return to L’hôtel de Maisons for the third edition of its Paris fair. According to the fair, this iteration will include its largest gallery programme to date, as well as an increased presence for its Design at Large section, which is dedicated to large-scale works and architectural installations.
Finally, in December, the 21st edition of Design Miami will take place at Miami Beach, curated by the fair’s curatorial director, Glenn Adamson. The fair’s theme will be Make. Believe. which, according to a statement, is “intended to capture the design avant-garde across the ages, celebrating design visionaries of the past, present, and future”.
The news of this expanded programme comes in the midst of Art Basel where, for the first time in a number of years, Design Miami is not hosting a concurrent fair. Its fair in the Swiss city was cancelled in February, leading to some dealers joining together to create their own event, called Maze.
