Julien Pradels has been named the new regional president of the Americas at Christie’s.
Pradels has held leadership positions across Christie’s global operation over 14 years, with tenures Europe, Asia, and now the Americas. He spearheaded Christie’s first auction sale in Shanghai.
“I am so please to have such a wonderful and dedicated colleague in this role,” Brennan said in a statement, adding that he would be “leading a world-class team of specialists and staff to drive our sales calendar, build client relationships, oversee the ambitious renovation of our New York home at Rockefeller Center, and continue to develop innovative initiatives and solutions to support our work.”
For his part, Pradels added that he was “proud” to take on the role.
Pradels’s post was previously held by Bonnie Brennan, who became CEO of the auction house in February. When Brennan was announced as CEO the month before, it was a major shakeup, since he replaced Guillaume Cerutti, who left that position to become president of the Pinault Collection while still acting as chairman to Christie’s.
Brennan said at the time that under her leadership, Christie’s would embrace new technologies, including AI.
