For the past 20 years, The Vinyl Factory, London, has been at the forefront of fostering pioneering collaborations between artists and musicians, embracing fresh ideas and exploring new ways of merging art and sound. Now, they have teamed up with 180 Studios to present a multimedia exhibition titled The Vinyl Factory: Reverb. It’s the largest show devoted to the intersection of audio and visual, bringing together over 100 artists and musicians working across visual media, music, film and live performance. The show also features new specially commissioned, site-specific installations from well-known names, including Theaster Gates, Es Devlin, Julianknxx and Caterina Barbieri. UK premieres also abound, with new projects unveiled from Cecilia Bengolea, Kahlil Joseph, Stan Dougla and the late Virgil Abloh.

This show is a sensory adventure, inviting visitors into immersive and meditative spaces. One example is Hi-Fi Listening Room Dream No.1, created by and programmed with New York artist Devon Turnbull. Attendees enter a zone dedicated to listening. Here, a carefully curated vinyl collection offer an evolving programme of unheard music, including exclusive test pressings and studio outtakes. Elsewhere, a new project by Theaster Gates (b. 1973), called Amplified, will exist as a sonic installation experience during the day and transform into a space that hosts live performances by night. It’s the place to meet established and emerging musicians recorded and pressed direct-to-disc on The Vinyl Factory Lathe.

The Vinyl Factory: Reverb is an ode to the relationship between the senses. Sights and sounds combine to challenge, enchant and intrigue audiences, who have been brought together by a shared love for art in all forms. 100 vinyl records created by artists will also be on display, including releases from Nan Goldin, Marina Abramovic, Es Devlin, Kojey Radical and many more. Enter the gates to the music lovers’ paradise.
