Life imitates art, sort of. Katie Holmes plays a New York–based photographer reconnecting with her high school flame in Happy Hours, a new film Holmes also wrote and directed. Happy Hours premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, and, according to TMZ, it was at a dinner related to the festival that Holmes met her new boyfriend, New York–based artist Jason Bard Yarmosky.

Yarmosky was one of the 10 artists who participated in the 2026 Tribeca Festival Artist Awards Program, an initiative sponsored by Chanel in which visual artists gift one of their artworks to one of the festival’s winning filmmakers. Others in the 2026 cohort include Brendan Fernandes, Bony Ramirez, Hank Willis Thomas, and Carrie Mae Weems. Yarmosky was paired with best new narrative director Miiku Sakanishi, who received a colored pencil drawing of a nude female figure titled 10.16.24 (2024).

Holmes and Yarmosky have since been spotted at a mid-July screening of The Invite, a new comedy starring Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde, in East Hampton.

Yarmosky got his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2010 and has several solo and group shows to his name. His most recent show, “Time Has Many Faces,” closed at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York, in April. It featured stylized portraits—at the same time tender and absurdist—of his late grandparents, who have been the focus of his work for over a decade. “Somewhere,” at the University of Maine’s Zillman Art Museum in 2017, included paintings and drawings of Yarmosky’s grandmother, specifically addressing her struggles with dementia.

His work has also been included in group shows at the Jewish Museum in Vienna, the Brooklyn Museum, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark. ARTnews Top 200 Collector Beth Rudin DeWoody selected Yarmosky’s work for two shows that she curated, one at Eric Firestone Gallery in 2019 and another at Wilding Cran in 2017. He also featured in “Duets,” an exhibition–cum–art fair held last fall and organized by Zoe Lukov and Kyle DeWoody, Rudin DeWoody’s daughter.
