Enter Art Fair, Scandinavia’s leading international art fair, returns to Copenhagen this August. The event presents a curated selection of leading galleries from across the global contemporary art landscape. Taking place at the iconic Lokomotivværkstedet, Enter Art Fair’s eighth edition offers a vibrant platform for art across all media, generations and geographies. Julie Leopold, Director and Founder, says: “as Scandinavia’s largest international art fair, we are proud to present a curated platform that connects audiences with some of the most exciting galleries and artists working today. The fair is a meeting point for art professionals, collectors and first-time buyers alike – and for 2026, we’re particularly excited to offer a vibrant talks programme that reflects the ideas, relationships and shifts shaping the global art world.”

This year, 28 galleries will exhibit at Enter for the first time, underscoring the fair’s continued growth and global reach. They form part of a total of 80 leading galleries, including exciting new additions from around the world, as well as a strengthened Nordic presence. Those on display range from photography and painting to sculpture and installation, offering audiences a glimpse at the very best of contemporary art. Mads Hyldgaard Nielsen, presented by Tempesta Gallery, explores painting as an act of transgression and dissolution, a process where the image pushes beyond its limits to become a physical and sensory experience. His research engages in a dialogue with Renaissance and Baroque painting, evoking atmospheres of tension, collapse, and rebirth. Meanwhile, Iange + Pult brings Bottles by Lilian Bourgeat, an installation composed of oversized elements drawn from everyday life. Their astonishing change in scale strips them of their original functionality and shifts them into another realm, that of the extraordinary.

Visitors will also enjoy the return of the popular open-air sculpture park. It’s a unique offering, one which allows audiences to experience art beyond the booths. Here, contemporary work is in dialogue with historic industrial architecture and natural settings. Previous sculptures have included Abdus Salaam’s Our Last Stone (Marmo II), presented by THK Gallery, which turns Carrara marble into a smooth form, which seems to ripple and move. It’s overlapping curves and edges make it look like the hard surfaces have melted and oozed. The sculpture park has also housed Philip Aguirre Y Otegui’s Je vous offer une maison, a tender piece rendered in patinated bronze, portraying a figure offering a simplified, house in outstretched arms. As Artsy describes: “The gesture, both intimate and symbolic, echoes the artist’s broader preoccupation with themes of refuge, hospitality and dignity. The house becomes not only a physical shelter but an emblem of empathy and sanctuary, particularly poignant in the context of displacement and migration. The figure, simplified by emotive, stands as a proxy for universal humanity.”

Set against the industrial grandeur of Lokomotivværkstedet, this year’s edition underscores Copenhagen’s growing influence as a global art destination. It’s expansive and dynamic programme expands beyond traditional parameters, taking art into the natural landscape and inviting audiences to go beyond traditional setups. It’s a vital stage for discovery, collaboration and exploration.
